Conditioning is a word that is used a lot in the fitness industry but what does it really mean to have conditioning? There are those that are ripped from strength conditioning, marathon runners have to go through a type of stamina conditioning and then there is the conditioning that is necessary for fighters and martial artists. ™ Conditioning can come off as this hard core concept of hard work and training to build your body up so it can perform or endure what the sport demands of it. And it's true. However, that is not the whole picture of what it means to be a conditioned athlete. Building your body and it's performance potentials is only the outcome associated to having "great conditioning". The other half of the definition of conditioning is more about the discipline, the standard and the values that you adopt. "Great conditioning" is the result of adopting and integrating habits, standards and values that slowly, over time changes and transforms the conditions of the body. Conditioning isn't so much about building yourself up but rather more about adopting a specific way of being that will serve you in the long run which is beneficial for the performance and execution of the skills in a given sport or physical activity. So, how do you integrate a great conditioning ritual? One that will meet your athletic needs based ganjanetic on the sport or physical activity of your choice? A good place to start is by looking at where your values are placed in your sport. By looking at the components that you already have a natural inclination to favour and value, then you have a platform where you can design for yourself a discipline that you are more than likely to commit to. If for example you naturally favour cardio, then use that as a base to develop a discipline to condition, not only great cardio but also as a way to condition better form, more strength and greater endurance doing the activity that is the source of cardio. It's also a great way to develop secondary attributes. If, for instance you typically rely on jogging for cardio but you would like to develop another physical skill or work on some upper body, than you might consider cardio boxing. Or you might want to develop better foot co-ordination and do some skip rope. By focusing on what you already prefer, you are much more likely to build on it and develop a discipline and from a place of discipline is where conditioning can flow from the best. Also, using discipline is a powerful way to predispose yourself to growth and improvement in a specific skill or attribute. Once you have established a discipline on a particular practice, then it's only a matter of pushing yourself and upping the ante in order to improve and refine that conditioning. Let me leave with one final thought, and that is, when thinking in terms of the type of conditioning you feel you may need for whatever fitness goal that you have, think about what habits you need to adopt and how you need to be in the process of the training rather than what you need to do to reach and achieve a goal to finally arrive at. Chances are that when you arrive at that goal, in order to maintain it, you will need to sustain the conditioning by maintaining the practice that got you there in the first place. Conditioning is a process. While walking down the street, if you get to pass by a park or playground, you can see a number of individuals involved in different activity. Some can be seen engaged in cycling; some are using baseball equipment, while someone is busy giving baseball instruction to the seemingly amateur ones. Almost every one is engaged in some kind of activity. It is pretty obvious that the young ones are more interested in physical activities rather than just sitting or playing board games. Yet, every individual likes a different kind of sports. When we think of classifying the sports into categories, the number of categories is unbelievable. From bat and ball sports to automobile sports, from boarding sports to cue sports, from water sports to sky diving, there are just too many. Classifying such a number of sports in definite categories is definitely an arduous task. But roughly, we can manage to suggest few criteria that can put a sport in the closest possible category. Using these criteria, the categories that have been formed are as follows, • Racing Sports: In racing sports, there are a number of competitors racing against each other and sometimes also in teams. The basic objective of a race is to be the fastest and first one to achieve a target. Racing sports can be subcategorized in to three types of sports; human powered sports like running and swimming, Human assisted like cycling and rowing and External powered such as motor sports and sailing. • Opponent sports: These sports are generally a competition between two opponents where the scores achieved by the players decides the winner. The opponent sports can also be divided into three main categories Court sports are the ones that are played in a court such as tennis, badminton and squash. Combat sports are one on one physical encounter between the opponent like karate and boxing. And the Team sports are one in which teams compete with other teams example football and cricket. It is possible that a court sport is also a team sport. • Achievement sports: Achievement sports can be taken as the ones in which the players show off their abilities. The categories might help you understand it more clearly. There are three types of achievement sports; Target sports are the ones in which the objective is to hit a target such as shooting and archery. Display sports are the ones in which the participants display certain ability or moves like in bodybuilding, gymnastics and diving. In strength sports, the participants show off their strength as in weight lifting and triple jump. • Athletics: And finally, there are athletics in which the competitors have to show their abilities in a combination of different sports from above mentioned categories. We can roughly divide these into running, jumping and throwing. The players have to participate in a series of different games and the one with highest over all score is the winner. This was only a rough categorization of sports, if you go into deeper studies of all these categories. Although, if you study each category individually, you will see that it can still be sub categorized into many other categories as well. Everyone knows what is an exercise heart rate monitor is. If you don't, then just go outside and see what most exercisers are wearing on their arms or on their chests nowadays. These simple, yet extremely useful gadgets became very popular in the mid-90s, when most people wanted to make sure that they were really training effectively within their target heart rates. Nowadays, it is still an important part of any exerciser's tool, although it has branched out more. Today, it is not only seen on people, but in exercise equipments as well. ™ Because these monitors are becoming popular among serious exercisers and health-buffs alike, they are now becoming more available (and much cheaper) right now. Aside from improving its innovative features, such as clocks, calories burned, targeted heart rates, speed, distance, and easy one-touch buttons, their features have also dramatically changed over the years. No more boring, black straps; no more box-typed designs. Now, they come in a lot of trendy colors designed to fit the aesthetic needs of the consumer. No wonder these gadgets have never lost their appeal even until now. With all the things that it can do, what are the advantages and disadvantages of an exercise heart rate monitor? Advantages:- First, it can be a motivating factor in your workout. Nothing beats having a machine strapped on your arm reminding you that you need to run faster. Second, it is a valuable tool in making sure that you are training on your target heart rate. While this sounds so simple, it is an important aspect for any patient who is suffering from heart disease, or someone recovering from an illness. This is because over training the heart can be very dangerous for these individuals. Third, it helps an exerciser to be more in touch with their bodies and heart rhythms. There are some who have used these gadgets for so long now that they have become an expert on their heartbeats. In fact, they have become so good at it that they don't even use their heart rate monitors anymore. Fourth, you can record your progress, so you can make the necessary adjustments to your training.Fifth, you can make sure that you are measuring your maximum and resting heart rates accurately. This can help you to stay within your normal training zone, which can help you avoid unwanted injuries and minor accidents from occurring during your workout. Disadvantages:- Sometimes, too much data can confuse, instead of guide you. Some people quit early on their training, because they feel intimidated with all the details. Second, the monitors may be expensive, especially if you want it to be as accurate as possible. Third, the beeps can be quite distracting, especially when you are in highways and other public places. Accidents sometimes occur because of this. An exercise heart rate monitor can be an added bonus to anyone, although the level of improvement can be different, depending on each person's situation. The best thing to do is to weigh how well it can help you attain your fitness or health goals, because in the end, your improvement is what really counts the most. Just about every man alive has at least a passing interest in penis size and in comparing the length and girth of his own member with that of other men; in some cases, it can be an absolute obsession, eclipsing more important concerns such as penis skill and penis health. While having the biggest penis in the locker room is cause for bragging rights, how might even the best-hung man compare in a biggest penis contest with some other species? The answer: it depends on how penis size is determined. Sheer size The easiest way to see how man stacks up to other animals is through simply comparing the average lengths of the tools in question. To obtain the optimum results, the penis should be measured in its erect state; that raises the question of just how one goes about measuring the engorged member of, say, a Bengal tiger - or how one goes about getting it engorged, for that matter. But that's a problem for the scientists to deal with. What is average? There have been numerous studies on the average human penis size, and the results vary from study to study; however, it's generally agreed that the average male has an erect penis that measures between 5.1 and 5.9 inches in length. (The man generally held to possess the longest penis is purported to have a tool that measures 13.5 inches.) Comparisons With this average measurement range in mind, the human male gets huge bragging rights over quite a few members of the animal kingdom. For example, the shrew, a little mole-like rodent, is thought to be the least-hung of all animals, with an erect member that measures a piddling one-fifth of an inch. A housecat's penis is typically around 1.5 inches. And among primates, humans stand tall with the largest penis; the mighty gorilla musters a mere two inches for all his chest-beating. Big guys Yet there are many other animals with tools that dwarf that of mere man. Sometimes it's not surprising; if an animal is several times larger than a human, it makes sense that his penis is more impressive. So, there's no surprise that a rhinoceros has a penis about two feet long, or that those skyscraper-sized giraffes sport a stiffy of four feet, or that the African elephant weighs in with a six-and-a-half foot monster. (The biggest tool of all, by the way, is attached to the blue whale, averaging between eight and ten feet.) Surprising big guys Yet there are a number of other not so physically big animals that still give humans a run for their penis money. For example, pig penises can extend to about 18 inches. The Argentine blue-bill duck sports about 8 erect inches. Even the lowly banana slug can achieve 6 to 9 inches. By ratio Some may argue that ratio is a more accurate way to compare penis sizes across species. In that case, the ratio of penis to body size in humans is about 1:12. Not bad - but the blue whale still beats human, with a 1:10 ratio. African elephants do even better at 1:4, and that pesky banana slug outranks him at 1:1. But ratio-wise, the clear (and very surprising) winner is the barnacle. This little guy goes to great lengths to achieve sexual satisfaction; his penis to body ratio reaches an astounding 40:1! Looking at Learn here penis size among other animals helps a guy keep perspective - and perhaps can help him to concentrate on other penis issues that are equally (or more) important than just size - such as penis health. Men can improve their overall penis health through the regular use of a top notch penis health cream (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil). Finding the right cream means looking for ingredients like L-arginine, which helps in the process by which penis blood vessels are maintained in good health, and acetyl L carnitine, a neuroprotective ingredient that helps fight diminished penis sensitivity due to peripheral nerve damage such as can occur from rough handling - and that's important to a man no matter what his size! The three games of bowling I am about to mention are wonderful, fun versions of the game. They are, as all variations of bowling are, in fact, similar to the basic, most commonly known version of ten-point bowling with which we are familiar. Nine tap bowling, or 3-6-9 bowling, or low ball bowling and more are all versions of the game you may really begin to enjoy on a regular basis. Perfect for family fun, check out some of these games for your self. ™ First I will discuss 9-pin bowling (otherwise called the "nine tap" version.) There are more ways to enjoy the sport of bowling that you probably know about, because it is such an old sport with a long history. The basic concept of the sport of bowling has been through a series of adaptation and evolution through the times, and, certain variations tend to settle ganjanetic the cultures of the people who play the game. Nine-tap bowling is virtually identical to our favorite: basic ten pin bowling. Nonetheless there are two exceptions. A spare, or, the knocking over of nine pins counts as a strike, not a spare. The second exception is that some "splits," without a head pin will count as a spare in certain pre-determined cases. Another way of bowling is also popular with kids - but there is certainly no age limit on having fun! This is called the 3-6-9 bowling method. When you bowl a 3-6-9 game the setup is exactly the same as the regular, ten-point system. However, you automatically put strikes in the frames 3, 6, and 9. My dad used to play with us, letting us use the 3-6-9 rule, even though he would not. Letting kids win is fun sometimes, I suppose. There is another form of bowling called Low-Ball Bowling, as well as a type of bowling called Beruit Bowling. These both are types of bowling that differ slightly from our most common methods, but that are nonetheless incredible fun. Do you love bowling for recreation? Try new types of bowling. Check out more of my articles about bowling and the many kinds of bowling possible especially to suit your recreational desires! The biggest difference between ice hockey and roller hockey (inline hockey) is obviously the surface on which the sport is played. Ice hockey is either played on frozen ponds or on indoor ice rinks. As a result, ice hockey can be inaccessible to many people, especially those living in the southern United States. Inline hockey offers one distinct advantage over ice hockey in that it can be played on any paved surface. In fact, many inline leagues and pickup games take place on outdoor basketball and tennis courts. Besides the differences in playing surface, there are several significant rule differences between the two sports. The most significant of these rule differences is that ice hockey is played with five skaters per team, whereas inline hockey is only played with four. Furthermore, a standard game of inline hockey has no offsides or icing rules. In other words, skaters generally have more freedom to skate and shoot in inline hockey. Finally, many inline hockey leagues are played using a ball rather than a puck. For players used to using a puck, adjusting to a ball can be quite difficult because of its different characteristics of movement on the court. In general, the roller hockey player also uses less equipment. While shin guards, elbow pads, gloves, and a helmet are all necessary to play either sport, inline hockey players generally do not wear shoulder pads or breezers (ice hockey pants). This is because roller hockey pucks and balls are not nearly as hard as a frozen puck and most inline leagues are non-checking. So which sport should you play? Ice and roller hockey are both tremendously fun to play, with some subtle differences in style of play and rules. Many hockey players actually play in both inline and ice hockey leagues. The type of hockey that is right for you is based completely on preference. Both types of hockey can be extremely competitive and challenging. I recommend that one play in both types of leagues in order to gain a better feel for each sport. Either way, start skating and practicing as soon as possible. Hockey is a tough sport to learn but a rewarding one to play. |
